About HaveItMakeIt
Less “what should I buy?”, more “what can I make?”
Why it exists
Most recipe sites start with a dish and send you to the store. HaveItMakeIt starts with your kitchen: tick what you have and see what you can cook tonight, so less food goes to waste and fewer evenings start with a trip to the shop.
Where the recipes come from
- The Wikibooks Cookbook, written by its many contributors and shared under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Each of these recipe pages links to its source and credits it.
- Old cookbooks in the public domain from Project Gutenberg, starting with Fannie Farmer's 1910 Boston Cooking-School Cook Book. They're hidden unless you ask for them.
- Recipes written for this site, and more added over time.
What's free
Finding recipes from what you have, every recipe page, and browsing by ingredient are free, and they'll stay free. Extras such as calorie estimates, shopping lists and filtering by cuisine or diet are being tested as a premium option.
Your privacy
No ads and no tracking cookies. The ingredients you tick stay in your browser. Read the privacy page for the details.
